(i have connected the ipod to the sound system with the special flat ipod port and i can control it from my steering wheel buttons). Will i still be able to do this? 14:08 < [7]> iSiDoRoS: http://files.freemyipod.org/tmp/UMSbootiPodClassic-debug.exe 14:08 < [7]> can you try that one instead? 14:08 < [7]> it might display another message box with more detailed information 14:09 < [7]> and what *is* the exact device name that you see? 14:09 < [7]> and no, you won't be able to control your ipod externally (yet) 14:09 < iSiDoRoS> yes sure. thank you my friend. i'm trying it in a few minutes and come back immediately 14:10 < iSiDoRoS> the device i see is "freemyipod.org" and under this "apple mobile device usb driver" 14:10 < iSiDoRoS> i'm installing the itunes one more time 14:10 < [7]> "apple mobile device usb driver" means that itunes is controlling it 14:11 < iSiDoRoS> hmm ok. can you give me a link with the correct driver just to be sure? 14:14 < iSiDoRoS> i installed the driver one more time 14:15 < iSiDoRoS> now i see on the device manager "freemyipod.org" and under this "ipod classic 1g WTF". is it ok now? 14:15 < [7]> no, this means that it's not in DFU, but in WTF mode 14:16 < iSiDoRoS> but i've holded the menu and center button as was indicated. correct? 14:16 < iSiDoRoS> what have i done wrong? 14:17 < iSiDoRoS> ok so what should i do? 14:18 < [7]> start over, and do it again 14:18 < [7]> apparently you didn't make sure that itunes and applemobiledevicehelper.exe aren't running while (and after) booting it to DFU 14:20 < iSiDoRoS> how am i reseting ipod now? 14:21 < iSiDoRoS> ah ok. the typical reset worked 14:21 < iSiDoRoS> ok i'm starting again 14:22 < iSiDoRoS> but please tell me.. after installing rockbox, will i still be able to connect my ipod to my cars audio system and control it? 14:23 < user890104> iSiDoRoS: [17:09:44] <[7]> and no, you won't be able to control your ipod externally (yet) 14:24 < user890104> but if someone implements this, it would be possible 14:24 < iSiDoRoS> is it under development? is there any schedule? 14:27 < benedikt93> iSiDoRoS, I think there's been some discussion about this in #rockbox recently, but I can't tell you anything for sure 14:29 < iSiDoRoS> ok thank you all very much. i guess i have to often check #rockbox until they manage to make rockbox be connected through the port interface 14:29 < iSiDoRoS> see ya guys 14:44 -!- iSiDoRoS [4fa79476@gateway/web/freenode/ip.79.167.148.118] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 16:22 -!- liar [~liar@clnet-p09-185.ikbnet.co.at] has quit [Quit: hallowed are the ori!] 20:13 -!- Sorcerer [4ba3356b@gateway/web/freenode/ip.75.163.53.107] has joined #freemyipod-support 20:17 < Sorcerer> Hi, just wanted to come in real quick and tell [7] thank you for the fastboot tip, that worked perfectly. I also wanted to thank everyone who is working on this Rockbox port, you guys are doing an awesome job! I have the thick 160GB 1G and I'm amazed at the stability so far, it does crash every once in a while but I expected it to be much worse at this early stage of development.
