15:25 < TheSeven> until, after some time, it will hopefully flag the sector as bad and ignore it

15:28 < TheSeven> run mkfs.vfat on linux and provide the argument that makes it do a bad sector scan while formatting
15:28 < TheSeven> it will hopefully find the bad sectors and flag them as bad

15:30 < TheSeven> if you manage to figure out which sector numbers are the culprit in another way, you could also generate a remapping table that will make emcore map them out transparently in case fsck is too dumb

15:30 < TheSeven> i have a tool that does this automatically, but on my broken-hdd ipod it took like a week to run until it had identified all the bad sectors

20:14 < TheSeven> the next release will hopefully contain the USB fix, but that affects only a small number of users
20:14 < TheSeven> and apart from that not much has happened
