05:55 < XeroOmega> hi everyone, looking for a little support if your willing. i have a 6g ipod classic, didn't think and stupidly installed emcore without reading. now i'm able to boot and get into default rockbox but i'm trying to restore this ipod and am unable to get into dfu mode. any suggestions?
06:00 < XeroOmega> little more explination, when i try to get into dfu (hold menu + select) my device reboots either endlessly or doesn't see me pressing buttons anymore. a couple times i had it seem to freeze and not come back on. and all this time my windows xp does not see my ipod at all.

17:16 < [7]> in this case you shouldn't have touched itunes' drivers, so they should be installed correctly

17:18 < [7]> (these two steps reset the clickwheel and shouldn't really be needed, but might help)
17:19 < [7]> - press and hold menu+select for 12 seconds (ignore what the ipod is doing during that time, just check the time)
17:19 < [7]> after that the screen should be black
17:19 < [7]> if it isn't, something really strange is going on with it
17:20 < [7]> if it is, but still isn't recognized by itunes, you should check the device manager to check whether the problem is on the PC or ipod side
17:26 < XeroOmega> hey, thanks. i tired this like 100 times last night, but i was just able to get it into dfu by toggling the hold switch. i'm going to attempt a restore and see how it goes.
17:41 < XeroOmega> Alright i got it restored, thanks. fyi it's was a couple things causeing the issue. 1 i needed to turn hold on and off, from there i was able to enter DFU. but my computer would not detect it. so i moved around the usb ports. 1 of my usb hubs lets it talk to my computer in dfu, the other does not. but both work when it's running in regular mode. you may want to add to the wiki to
