15:04 < neothecat> hello. i am following the instructions for EMCore installation/iPodClassic/DFUiTunes.  two things. one, one i plug in my iPod, iTUnes comes up.  i go to task manager, but there is no "AppleMobileDeviceService.exe" .  i am not to sure if that is an issue.
15:06 < neothecat> second, when i shot the iPod completely (holding the buttons down for 10-15 seconds), as soon as the screen goes blank, iTune comes up, asks to do a recovery, i cancel, but the DFU Usb Driver never installs.  this is where i am stuck....

15:12 < [7]> close down itunes, kill everything that's related, and then press and hold menu+select for ~12 seconds again

15:15 < neothecat> ok, i did that, i ran the bootstrapper tool, said it could not find the path, but my iPod is now seen as UMSBoot....

15:18 < [7]> that could trigger an error message in the CMD window that it can't cd to that directory

15:19 < [7]> it's caused by the DFU client trying to clean up things at a point at which the ipod has already rebooted to umsboot
15:19 < neothecat> onto installing rockbox...  this process is still a lot more painless then using itune...
15:19 < [7]> that's caused by us using a DFU exploit, that doesn't exactly do a sane shutdown of the USB connection
15:26 < neothecat> so far so good...  it looks great!  i am always blown away by people do these kind of embedded software on supposdly closed hardware.

15:51 < [7]> neothecat: I answered that at #rockbox and the answer is no, you can use all newer rockbox builds as well

15:52 < neothecat> i guess i am pretty confused.  i am looking on the rockbox site for the build for the ipod classic build, and i can not find it.  i am not trying to be difficult, i am just having trouble finding it.

15:53 < [7]> there are just the SVN HEAD builds and possibly dailies
