To recap it's not booting up after I installed the wrong version on fastboot, and I got quite far thanks to some detailed instructions from user890104, which got me up to having the device recognised as Emcore monitor and being able to run the python command
16:34 < JamesR> Unfortunately the pyhton rm command gives me a bad image error, it seems to not be happy with libusb0.dll for some reason, any ideas on how I can fix it?

16:59 < JamesR> I ran that yes, user told me to run a reset command, I'll reboot it and see, the worst that could happen is it doesn't boot I suppose

20:49 < Cephapod> I managed to get the UMSboot screen on the ipod screen, copy the ubi onto the ipod, safely eject it, followed the emocore warning/instructions onscreen by holding the menu select button to reboot but nothing happened because the regular apple software loaded without any option screens etc

22:34 < Cephapod> I reset the ipod a few times and the screen is sometimes clearer than others.
