Rearranging files... I did some reaseach and it looks like the current version doesn't support dualboot, but i've found something called fastboot. Is there a way to use fastboot to load the OF? 20:09 < Farthen> no, dualboot is not supported 20:10 < Farthen> and fastboot doesn't change anything to that matter 20:10 < Hidraga> so now it's not posible at all? 20:10 < TheSeven> correct 20:10 < Farthen> it may work at some point but there are some problems that prevent us from dualbooting 20:11 < Hidraga> ok thx for the reply :~) 20:11 < TheSeven> Junik: svn merge -r 789:788 . 20:11 < TheSeven> and then rebuild 20:13 < Hidraga> bb all 20:13 -!- Hidraga [5c70575f@gateway/web/freenode/ip.92.112.87.95] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 20:13 < Junik> TheSeven, is it possible on Windows? 20:18 < TheSeven> probably not, unless you manage to make elf2emcoreapp work on windows first 20:21 < Junik> looks I'm not able to to this 20:21 < Junik> Im beginer linux user 20:23 < Junik> is it possible on linux? 20:23 < Junik> anyway I want to try 20:30 < Farthen> please wait for the official release. its not that long to wait (hopefully) 20:31 < Junik> ok ) 20:32 < Junik> thank you for you time, and sorry for my stupid questions ) 20:32 < Junik> bye 20:55 -!- benedikt93 [~benedikt9@unaffiliated/benedikt93] has quit [Quit: Bye ;)] 22:38 -!- Junik [bc7bee53@gateway/web/freenode/ip.188.123.238.83] has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds] 22:48 -!- mic_ [58861c23@gateway/web/freenode/ip.88.134.28.35] has joined #freemyipod-support 22:50 < mic_> can i upgrade emcore by copying emcore-installer-ipodclassic-r828.emcoreapp into root directory umboot ubi method doesnt work? 22:51 < mic_> or make a .boot drectory? 22:53 < mic_> renaming .emcore file init...etc? 23:18 -!- TheSeven [~TheSeven@rockbox/developer/TheSeven] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds] 23:19 < user890104> mic_: in theory renaming the installer to init.emcoreapp and putting it in .boot should work 23:19 < user890104> but i doubt any of the developers have tested that 23:19 < user890104> there's no reason why it wouldn't work though 23:25 < mic_> what about that compatibility aspect.... 23:26 < mic_> problems with fastboot etc.. 23:26 < mic_> why doesnt new build over write old one with umboot? 23:29 < mic_> it works if first i reinstall apple crap then reinstall from scratch 23:30 < user890104> umsboot seems to be broken for me, too 23:30 < user890104> on both nano2g and classic 23:31 < user890104> but i haven't told TheSeven yet 23:31 < user890104> it will be fixed for the official release for sure 23:31 < mic_> how do i update umboot before i update emcore? 23:31 < mic_> ok 23:31 < user890104> well, emcore flashes a copy of umsboot 23:31 < user890104> you can basicly redo the initial install procedure with the r708 bootstrapper 23:32 < user890104> it should work 23:32 < user890104> throw the r828 .ubi there, and continue as usual 23:32 < user890104> it won't reformat/delete anything (besides the /.boot/init.emcoreapp file, to prevent API version mixing) 23:33 < mic_> ok maybe i didnt try that 23:33 < user890104> in short: the umsboot inside r828 is broken, use another one for ex. r708 23:45 < mic_> who knows what the .emcoreapp is for? 23:46 < mic_> if the ubi file is used to update from umboot menu? 23:50 -!- mic_ [58861c23@gateway/web/freenode/ip.88.134.28.35] has quit [Quit: Page closed] 23:54 -!- TheSeven [~TheSeven@rockbox/developer/TheSeven] has joined #freemyipod-support --- Log closed Tue Dec 06 00:02:37 2011
