I hold down both the menu and select buttons for a good 15 secs and all it does is goes black, apple symbol pops up, goes black again and then back to the apple symbol. It would then return to the regular home screen. What am I missing? [17:31:21] <[7]> 15 seconds is too long [17:31:52] <[7]> it will enter DFU mode if menu+select was held for between 10 and 15 seconds, which is why we say 12 [17:32:08] <[7]> and USB must be connected during that [17:32:18] Hmm. So should I depress it once it stays black? [17:33:33] Btw, the ipod is completely clean and restored [17:37:18] <[7]> yes [17:38:34] ok. now the screen is black. i go into device manager, it still says apple mobile device usb driver. [17:41:03] <[7]> this probably means that some apple stuff booted it into WTF mode [17:41:40] <[7]> make sure everything apple-related (ipodservice, applemobiledeviceservice, itunes, ...) is dead and reboot the ipod into DFU mode once again [17:42:05] ahh i think i know what went wrong. i had to run admin for the bootstap.exe [17:54:49] thanks 7 for helping me out. it took some time to understand, but i got it going [17:54:53] *** Parts: cruzin (43a14fa9@gateway/web/freenode/ip.67.161.79.169) () [18:08:45] *** Joins: liar (~liar@83.175.83.185) [23:40:49] *** Quits: benedikt93 (~benedikt9@unaffiliated/benedikt93) (Quit: Bye ;))
