I'm having a problem USB mounting a 160gig Ipod classic 3g. [19:46:09] I have a few rockbox builds, the older ones mount to usb correctly, the later ones will not mount. [19:46:25] the Rockbox fallback image always mounts. [19:47:13] could this be a problem that upgrading to a non-release/newer version of EmCore? [19:54:01] Im currently running R859. [19:55:29] on the fallback rockbox image, it mounts to USB fine. on the later rockbox builds (im currently using the rockbox builds from Aroldan on HeadFi) it won't mount. It mounts to a drive letter, but shows as 0byte. help! [19:58:27] *** Joins: liar (~liar@clnet-p09-185.ikbnet.co.at) [20:06:09] <[Saint]> slowdow: for what reason are you using an unsupported build? [21:02:41] and theres a whole load of people over on this forum http://www.head-fi.org/t/532426/ipod-classic-rockbox-its-happening/1080 [21:03:23] who were having a much better experience of rockbox than i was. to be honest, the only issue i have is the USB mount issue, some of us have the problem some don't. [21:14:25] I'll switch to the build you linked when I get home and see what happens. [21:14:28] <[Saint_]> Its well known, and noted on the freemyipod site. [21:14:40] <[Saint_]> (wrt: problems mounting) [21:15:47] <[Saint_]> You're free to use whatever build you desire, just, don't expect support if it didn't come from freemyipod or Rockbox [21:32:36] I understand the unsupported bit, i didn't know there was a known issue re mounting. [21:34:12] I'm happy to use the fallback image any time i want to copy files over, when it means the iPod becomes pleasant, usable and i dont have to go near itunes. [21:34:30] its a small small price to pay for Flac support and the joys of Rockbox. [21:34:52] and i've now managed to finally retire my old Iriver H340. [21:36:31] the issue mounting is very deffinately influenced by the rockbox build. [21:36:47] thanks for the advice Saint_ [22:16:06] *** Joins: benedikt93 (~benedikt9@unaffiliated/benedikt93) [22:20:19] *** Quits: liar (~liar@clnet-p09-185.ikbnet.co.at) (Ping timeout: 260 seconds) [22:23:10] *** Joins: liar (~liar@clnet-p09-185.ikbnet.co.at) [23:28:00] *** Quits: ShapeShifter499 (Lance@95.211.165.246) (Excess Flood) [23:54:52] *** Joins: ShapeShifter499 (Lance@95.211.165.246) [23:59:21] *** Joins: user890104 (Venci@0.vps.6bez10.info)
