[16:45:51] the older version worked fine but had some minor problems [16:46:19] anyway, this is not normal [16:46:25] could be, i dnloaded it from the emcore site [16:46:32] I'd try reinstalling emcore [16:47:11] ok i will give it a go, but first have to debrick the ipod, cant get it to connect as udf [16:47:34] there is no way to stop dfu from working [16:47:55] if you fail to enter DFU mode that usually means that you got the timing of the button presses wrong [16:48:09] but as an alternative you can also reflash it through emcore itself [16:48:39] it should still be functional enough to do that, what you're seeing is just the boot menu app crashing, but the kernel should still work [16:48:47] i think ive got the timing right, black screen etc. but how can i reflash through emcore? [16:49:24] you'll need the emcore client tools from our svn repository, and if you're on windows you'll have to install a custom driver (which is sadly acting up more often than not) [16:49:44] so I'd go down that route if you're on linux, and just use DFU if you're on windows [16:50:19] ok, i have a dual boot, so i'll go through linux. thanks very much for the help [16:51:29] i'll leave a msg here afterwards, cheers [16:52:03] ii [16:52:08] *** Quits: robgo (~robg@a80-101-149-143.adsl.xs4all.nl) () [17:22:06] *** Joins: Elfish (amba@2a01:4f8:100:90a1:abc:abc:abc:abc) [20:24:49] *** Joins: robg (~robg@a80-101-149-143.adsl.xs4all.nl) [20:26:07] *** Joins: robgo (~IceChat77@a80-101-149-143.adsl.xs4all.nl) [20:26:26] *** Quits: robg (~robg@a80-101-149-143.adsl.xs4all.nl) (Client Quit) [20:26:30] Hi [20:30:07] @ TheSeven; I have my Ipod up & runnning again, but with emcore release 708. Both r855 and r859 result in a *panic* message aftet boot [20:30:50] hm, that is really odd [20:31:22] yes, if there is anythinig you wanted tested, let me know [20:31:38] btw thanks for all this, i think emcore+rockbox is great [20:35:08] robgo: did you try to update using Tools->UMSboot in emcore's menu?
