I have a question about way of porting Emcore firmware to ipod classic. Does programmers in your team tryed to separate ipod's hard drive on 2 partitions to save original os on the first partition and use second one to record rockbox. I read in last post that Emcore now has editable parameters. [21:11:26] * TheSeven is confused [21:12:26] Why? [21:13:13] I have no idea what you mean with "editable parameters", and what the real point of your question is [21:16:17] I mean parameters like in ipodlinux loader: for Example backlight = 1 timeout = 5 default = 1 1.-Rockbox @ (hd0,1)/.rockbox/rockbox.ipod 2.-Apple OS @ osos 3.-Sleep @ standby 4.-Disk Mode @ diskmode [21:17:20] real point of my question - i want to dual boot with apple os and rockbox on ipod classic [21:17:56] well dualbooting isn't really related to that in any way, the groundwork for that has been laid, but a bug prevents it from working [21:18:58] it seems like apple's firmware isn't happy with the state that we leave the hardware in when handing over control to it [21:22:10] Is there any hope that it will be possible to use two operating systems [21:22:28] well, someone needs to figure out why the apple firmware hangs during boot [21:22:40] on the nano 2g it works just fine, and we're doing things very similarly there [21:25:17] I'm sure that it can be done, but it's something that you need a certain set of skills and a lot of spare time for [21:31:09] yes, you are right about the skills. I have experimented a lot with my ipod mini, but now I want to test ipod classic. ipod nano 2g - not so interesting. [21:32:41] that about ipodlinux? Why this bootloader non working? [21:47:10] okay it doesn't matter, thanks a lot for your reply! Good Luck! [21:53:53] *** Quits: ujeff (2e9fd5bd@gateway/web/freenode/ip.46.159.213.189) (Quit: Page closed)
