[14:23:10] no, neither rockbox nor emcore support ext2/3/4 file systems [14:23:26] aw too bad, fat is really a pain to work with :/ [14:24:42] why that? [14:24:52] fat is one of the simplest possible file systems [14:25:04] no using rsync -a for example on the whole music library [14:25:19] also no way to use the ipod as an external hard disk for big files (> 4G) [14:26:13] that's the price to pay for simplicity :P [14:26:32] yeah, I can live with that [14:27:01] I really can't see why the rockbox site cites the 6G as not working, it's working like a charm [14:28:02] because it technically doesn't fulfill some requirements for the "unstable" or "stable" levels [14:28:44] mostly the fact that the installation method is rather complicated, and that it isn't "self contained" but requires emcore [14:29:07] fair enough. I didn't find it complicated though, worked on my first try and the wiki was very clear :) [14:29:10] great job on that [14:31:17] well, you probably did it on linux [14:31:22] on windows it's much more complicated [14:31:39] yeah I use Arch [14:31:47] and we have a lot of trouble with USB not working properly on various systems [14:32:08] mounting taking ages or not working at all, ipods freezing, ... [14:32:35] pyusb 1.0.0_a2 was packaged in the AUR even, getting it installed was trivial [14:34:34] I have a slight problem though, I lowered the screen brightness in the main menu, but when I use the setting to boot directly in rockbox it doesn't apply that setting and defaults to the brightest [14:35:32] or even when I launch it from the main menu, it resets the brightness to max [14:36:16] never mind, it has its own setting [14:36:17] derp [15:38:36] can I play xm/it module files? I get a crash when I try to open one (they show up with the picture icon) [16:11:29] possibly... I haven't played with that so far [17:08:13] *** Joins: Poodlemastah (~Poodlemas@46-236-107-195.customer.t3.se)
