How should I back up my iPod? Should I just make a FAT image? I am using Windows. [16:53:51] <[7]> if you have valuable data on your ipod, you should of course back that up [16:54:08] <[7]> to restore the firmware, just use itunes [16:57:11] well, it's just music that i have [16:57:26] most if not all of it is on a separate backup of my hardrive [16:57:31] just being cautious [17:06:41] so i could just copy iPodControl back to the new ipod after restoring and it would be good as it was before emcore? [17:06:49] wait, let me rephrase that [17:07:21] i could copy iPodcontrol from the backup to the newly restored OF iPod and it would be the same as it was before? [17:07:29] <[7]> yes, restoring the firmware and copying back a backup of the file system (including iPodControl) should put it into the original state at any time [17:08:25] a'ight, i just felt like asking 'cuz for all i knew the file system was non-standard or something. just didn't want to corrupt it, and I never trust Apple to be standards compliant with embedded devices of this sort.
