[18:18:09] I have a iPod Nano 2G with iLoader installed stuck on the "no config file" screen. [18:18:37] I must use iLoader because with the latest version of emCORE the screen doesn't work. [18:19:56] I must use iLoader because with the latest version of emCORE the screen doesn't work. I am sure the folder structure is correct. [18:20:26] This happened after the iPod got disconnected without unmounting the filesystem first (kernel panic on the host machine) [18:21:15] I am sure the folder structure is correct (and I also meant to say: I already unzipped a theme file on the iPod in hopes of restoring the config file). No luck. [18:22:13] Fortunately the "no config" screen allows for entering the disk mode... [18:26:19] And unfortunately looks like no one is looking to this chat... it's a matter of waiting. [18:43:12] Will uninstalling iLoader and installing it again do the trick? For uninstaller, should I use the "uninst" option in this menu? [18:51:40] <[Saint]> I believe you can follow the directions to uninstall iloader, restore the device, and then reinstall. [18:52:24] <[Saint]> but perhaps TheSeven or user890104 know another workaround. [18:53:36] What annoys me the most is having to restore the device, as I don't have iTunes handy (I recently reformatted my last computer which still had iTunes installed). [18:54:30] I wonder if there are any Linux tools which may be able to do the same. Probably not, since they will have to reinstall the firmware and I don't think they can do so. [18:58:51] Simply uninstalling iLoader will allow it to boot into Rockbox, right? [19:11:59] deleted iLoader folder so I get the "can't load theme" screen now [19:13:10] ok, I deleted iLoader, but since the install bootloader was there, I'm now in the installer. I'm going to reinstall iLoader to see if it fixes the problem [19:14:03] ok, it's fixed. [19:14:25] except that when I want to boot rockbox, I see the "no config file" screen again. sigh. [19:16:21] where is the config file located, in the end? isn't it the iLoader.cfg in the iLoader folder? [19:22:25] Rockbox bootloader complains that it can't load rockbox.ipod. Maybe the filesystem is more corrupted than I think, but reformatting the FAT partition is something I can do on Linux [19:23:43] Well yes, the .rockbox folder is gone. Maybe related to the fact I connected the iPod to a tablet running Rockbox-as-an-app, and it somehow deleted the .rockbox folder. [19:28:49] finally booted rockbox. Thanks!
