I got as far as holding the menu and select buttons for ~10 seconds to get my ipod into DFU mode, but I don't think it went into DFU mode seeing as the screen is black, but my computer cannot connect to my it as a USB, and it has made no attempt to install driver software [23:11:59] someone pls help [23:12:19] do you have itunes installed? [23:12:22] I previously had installed EmCORE and Rockbox, but there seemed to be an error setting up the database (I tried several times and tried a few different things, one of which was (foolishly) reformatting the drive from the settings (not the ones in Rockbox)), so I plugged my ipod into my computer and restored it using iTunes. (after which it worked the same as it originally did.) Now, I'm trying to put EmCORE back on it, but [23:12:48] *any advice? [23:12:59] in that case, you have likely already installed the DFU driver, it's normal that it doesn't ask you to install that [23:13:07] just try running the bootstrapping tool [23:13:12] How? [23:13:25] nevermine [23:13:29] *nevermind [23:13:34] just like you did during the initial installation [23:13:46] Ah, here we go. [23:13:47] just skip waiting for the drivers to install, because they are already installed [23:13:49] Thanks. [23:19:42] So the UMS boot thing opened on my ipod, but the computer still isn't reading it [23:20:46] nevermind, got it
