[14:32:36] <magnafunk> Hi, I have emcore on my ipod classic 120gb, I am trying to restore original ipod firmware but am aunable to enter dfu mode. Whenever I hold menu and select, it will reboot. I continue holding the key combo and it just boots back to emcore. Any ideas? Cheers
[14:34:55] <[Saint]> If the device is connected via USB, and you are indeed holding the right key combination, it quite literally can't not go into DFU mode.

[14:39:01] <[Saint]> magnafunk: boot the device, plug in USB, hold menu+select, the device will reboot into the emCORE main menu <DO NOT LET GO OF MENU+SELECT>, the HDD will audibly spin down as the screen blanks itself, this is DFU mode.
[14:39:18] <[Saint]> The device will appear as though it is off, it isn't.
[14:39:34] <[Saint]> The entire process takes between 12 and 15 seconds.

[14:40:15] <[Saint]> Unless the hardware is actually physically damaged in some way (that would prevent functionality), it is quite impossible to not be able to enter DFU mode.
