I got it into DFU mode, and ran bootstrap as admin (Im on win7). And then I drag the .UBI file over, and ejected it. [00:43:27] Now its stuck at "Loading UBI files..." "Prepairing files..." and lastly Booting UBI file... [00:43:56] Its overtop of the default apple boot logo, but 1/4 of the screen is black. [00:46:42] DKRTech: can you take a picture of the ipod's screen, and upload it somewhere? [00:46:51] sure [00:47:20] also, can you check if there's any new device in Device manager? [00:48:57] i'm going to sleep now, if TheSeven is available he should be able to help you with further instructions [00:49:21] http://t.co/AssJGkvicR [00:49:39] when i plug the ipod in while still on that screen? [00:49:53] ok thanks for the help. have a good rest. [00:50:26] hm, seems like apple has introduced yet another LCD type? [00:51:21] i tried dragging the ibi file, and copy and pastng it. [00:51:39] that screen should never look like that in the first place [00:51:59] it gets suck at the screen. Then I hard reset it (menu+select for 10 seconds), then the normal ipod software boots up. [00:52:13] normal apple softwware* [00:52:37] how does it show in the device manager while it's showing that half-apple screen that you posted? [00:52:57] is the USB ID ffff:e000? [00:53:12] (VEN_ffff&DEV_e000 on windows) [00:54:03] nothing shows up when its plugged in [00:54:11] its still on that screen [00:55:41] ive disabled my computer proction, and ran bootstrap as admin [00:56:29] i copied over the ubi file, and ejected it... It showed on the computer is was correctly copied, and it said the name [00:57:13] if I reset my ipod now, it will load back apple software. I even wiped out all my old music, and reformatted and tried again. No luck [00:58:00] can you please check what the device identification string in the device manager is? [00:58:08] not in windows explorer, you really need to check the device manager [00:58:19] it might be listed as an unknown device [00:58:35] just watch what happens in the device manager while you eject UMSboot [00:59:59] i keep plugging it in, and out... and nothing is appearing, or disappearing. [01:00:28] after I ejected it, then unplugged it... plugging it back in doesnt regonize anything, i dont see any unknown device [01:00:47] unknown would be under "other", right? [01:00:56] if there was one [01:05:30] im going to redo the process, and tell you what UMSboot says prior to ejecting [01:05:31] hm, not a good sign [01:06:38] UMSboot RAMDISK USB Device [01:07:47] Wait a second [01:07:51] "installer-ipodnano2g-r859-20120102" [01:07:57] is that the right name? [01:08:06] for the software, nano2g? [01:11:02] LMFAO IT worked [01:12:33] wow im sorry theseven, somehow the wrong file got saved... [01:12:51] i feel like the biggest dumbass in the world... I appolgozie, thanks for the help [01:13:14] we have a problem regardless... [01:13:26] whys that? [01:13:28] however, in this case, it could just be an LCD driver bug in UMSboot [01:13:36] it definitely shouldn't show such a crappy screen [01:31:39] *** Quits: DKRTech (~DKRTech@108-205-128-141.lightspeed.mtclmi.sbcglobal.net) () [03:53:12] <[Saint]> Blargh.
