[03:05:49] <[Saint]> Huh? How on earth canyou have emCORE installed *and* be in Disk Mode? [03:06:00] <[Saint]> Those two don't mix. [03:06:51] <[Saint]> Oh - Nano. Whoops. [03:07:01] <[Saint]> ...haven't seen one of those in a while. [03:10:24] <[7]> kobra_: windows or linux pc? [03:10:55] <[7]> if windows, did you by accident mess up the driver for the mass storage device while installing emcore? [03:11:37] <[7]> try entering disk mode, then uninstalling the ipod device in the device mamager, and then disconnecting and reconnecting it [03:11:48] <[7]> or try another pc if possible [06:12:41] *** Quits: [7] (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) (Disconnected by services) [06:12:54] *** Joins: TheSeven (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) [07:33:51] *** Quits: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/user/saint) (Remote host closed the connection) [07:35:55] *** Joins: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/user/saint) [13:26:21] 7: after update to emcore r859 ( under linux) , Linux can see device ( in disk mode , Rockbox, apple firmware) [13:27:11] but mac and windows not [13:35:34] well disk mode is unmodified apple code [13:36:04] so I can't really see why that wouldn't work, especially only on some operating systems [13:36:52] seems more like a misconfiguration on the host side, e.g. accidentally replacing the mass storage instead of DFU driver during non-itunes emcore installation [14:08:31] I have just checked 2 window machines the result is the same on both (ipad in disk mode is not recognized) [14:09:45] under linux it take some time to recognize device in disk mode ( less then one minute) [14:10:36] and I can see in dmesg very often e.g : [77135.432105] usb 2-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 63 [14:10:54] [77135.500412] hub 2-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 4 [14:11:37] and after some time device is recognized properly [14:22:04] kobra_: can you try a different usb cable? [14:22:40] also, can you backup your ipod's data to a computer, and then uninstall emcore? [14:22:52] but it shouldn't cause issues [14:23:53] that dmesg behavior suggests a flaky cable or dirt inside the connector or something like that [14:45:35] I have checked 2 different cables and I got the same result, ipod connection looks clean [15:00:01] ok, this time I will make a backup. Two years ago when you told me backup your data I skipped this point ;) [15:57:31] *** Joins: Gurky_ (47c8a6f7@gateway/web/freenode/ip.71.200.166.247) [15:59:29] Hello, I am currently having an issue with this step of installation.
