It rebooted to normal iPod firmware and now I can't get back to the emCore boot screen [03:18:53] How can I get back to the boot screen so that I can accept the terms and proceed with rockbox installation [03:25:00] *** Quits: Guest75907 (47c22862@gateway/web/freenode/ip.71.194.40.98) (Quit: Page closed) [05:14:19] *** Joins: jeremy_ (6376968f@gateway/web/freenode/ip.99.118.150.143) [05:14:43] *** jeremy_ is now known as Guest33448 [05:16:53] *** Quits: Guest33448 (6376968f@gateway/web/freenode/ip.99.118.150.143) (Client Quit) [06:10:46] *** Quits: [7] (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) (Disconnected by services) [06:10:58] *** Joins: TheSeven (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) [07:30:51] *** Quits: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) (Remote host closed the connection) [07:32:12] *** Joins: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) [09:12:14] *** Joins: billybobbobby (cb0e3490@gateway/web/freenode/ip.203.14.52.144) [09:12:57] Hello! TYping.... [09:13:07] Following instructions on http://www.freemyipod.org/wiki/EmCORE_Installation/iPodClassic/DFUiTunes [09:13:25] brand new ipod 160gb classic thin [09:13:41] win xp [09:14:47] when i hold buttons down and reboot, the drivers automatically load but then windows message comes up "one of teh usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognise it" [09:15:03] I have tried two different usb ports [09:16:24] I'm usually pretty good with this stuff but the 'not recognised device' issue has me stunped [09:23:17] I've read a number of posts on the rockbox forums, particularly the responses from [Saint], and haven't been able to find a reference to getting XP to recognise the device correctly [09:24:16] I have a Mac at home with 10.6.8 and bootcamp XP that I could try on if necessary [09:26:13] hm, I don't think we've ever had issues with XP [09:27:09] if the device manager sees the device at all, try using zadig to generate and install a winusb driver for it, then run the non-itunes bootstrapping tool [09:27:34] thanks for the reply! is zadig a frewware program? [09:28:10] dont answer that, got it [09:36:08] nothing in device manager, ipod unresponsive. had to run itunes and run their 'recovery' process. back to usable ipod. before i start the process over, any suggestions? maybe try on my bootcamped mac instead of my work pc? [09:57:54] sorry got to log off. will try again at home and log on tomorrow again for more support if necessary. thx for your help!
