[16:53:11] if i plug in the usb cable and reboot my ipod by holding select+menu and then booting to fallback image, i can see an empty "Apple iPod Classic USB Device" in the device manager. but i can't get transfer any files (backup my music in order to do a reinstall with a working build). anyone knows how to establish a usb connection to my device? maybe booting to emCore console and sending [16:53:11] some commands over usb comport? whats the purpose of emcore console? [17:16:37] Gonzoe: yes, you can use the console for file transfer, but it's not very user-friendly [17:17:01] you need python, pyusb and libusb drivers [17:17:19] and the python scripts of course [17:18:00] the fallback image should work, can you try other cable (if you have one), a different usb port (avoid front ports on desktop computers) [17:18:20] or if you have usb3 ports, also avoid them, they can cause issues [17:37:48] ok thanks, i will try another port and another cable. unfortunately i think in my fallback image usb support is broken too (i overwrote it when i updated to the last version). [17:41:23] stupid me! i was too lazy creeping under the desk to test it with usb ports on the back of my computer... now it works, again. thank you for pointing me in the right direction [17:44:52] would it be hard to implement a "usb mass storage" function in the bootmenu next emcore console? so you could boot it if you want to transfer files / rockbox updates [18:09:40] *** Quits: Gonzoe (~Gonzoe@37.49.153.11) () [18:54:22] *** Joins: guybrarian (a9858c06@gateway/web/freenode/ip.169.133.140.6) [18:57:11] Hi! I'm attempting to install emCORE onto my 6th gen iPod Classic (120gb). I've followed the steps as far as shutting it down and getting it into DFU mode. However, once I'm there no "Apple Recovery (DFU) USB Driver" connects to my PC. Thoughts?
