[11:10:34] seems most plausible for a sudden reboot [11:10:49] unlike the apple firmware, emcore typically doesn't reboot if it crashes [11:10:55] <[Saint]> Full battery. [11:10:58] it most likely panics or just hangs [11:11:21] <[Saint]> I purchased a new battery several months ago and charged it with a benchtop charger before I installed it in the device. [11:11:58] hm... weird [11:11:58] <[Saint]> I haven't yet seen the same reboot happen in Rockbox proper, but it has happened 3 times now in the emCORE disk mode application. [11:12:11] <[Saint]> There's no indication of error. [11:12:17] <[Saint]> It just falls off the map and reboots. [11:12:27] related to disk spinup/downs? [11:12:57] <[Saint]> I don't _think_ so, each time it has happened has been during an active transfer. [11:13:04] hm [11:13:06] <[Saint]> Once on write, twice on read. [11:13:19] <[Saint]> (stressing with dd) [11:13:19] not conclusive at all [11:13:27] <[Saint]> Exactly. :-/ [11:13:43] <[Saint]> I don't know what to think, I'm just reporting what I see in case it helps. [11:16:59] the behavior sounds like a battery voltage dip below 3.0V, but that would typically happen during spinup or possibly during heavy activity if the disk was never spun down for quite a while, and only if the USB power supply is weak and the battery is empty, bad or has bad connection [11:17:19] in all of these cases, the ipod shouldn't be able to power back up if you unplug the USB cable immediately after this happens [11:45:13] <[Saint]> Or work perfectly normally elsewhere... [11:45:35] <[Saint]> But maybe its just chance that I haven't seen it happen in Rockbox.
