[16:17:32] <TheSeven> if you still don't get any sign of a device connecting, any error message on the PC, or any sound, I'm suspecting that there's an issue with the PC, USB port or USB cable

[16:20:53] <TheSeven> if not, there's definitely a hardware problem or a PC side problem
[16:22:07] <TheSeven> if you now get a connection sound, try to proceed through the installation instructions again, up to the point where the emcore boot menu comes up again
[16:22:24] <TheSeven> then boot the rockbox fallback image again, and check if that now works
