Trying to install EmCODE on 7th Gen iPod classic. Get stuck at the point where I've shut it down and waiting for it to find the new USB device called "Apple Recovery (DFU) USB Driver" [11:48:04] It won't find the device. Help? [11:48:12] *** helpme is now known as Guest11515 [12:15:25] you don't need to shut it down. you need to get it to enter DFU mode [12:16:17] The instructions say you have to shut it down using menu / centre button then it will refind the device as a DFU. Mine doesn't . Im on Windows 7 [12:16:45] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_bIDtBohnE [12:18:32] Ok, that's what I did but then wouldn't allow we to install the bootstrap. I'll try again now... [12:24:07] Ok, that's got me one stage further! No idea why it wasn't working before. However, I am trying this now on an older back-up ipod (poss 6th) rather thana newer 7th gen. Should there be any differene in it working? [12:33:01] OK, so manged to get it to the point where the first Rockbox menu screen came up, then it went blank and it doesn't register on my computer, ie hardrive isn't accessible. When i run the Rockbox util it can't see the device. [12:38:41] If I turn the ipod back on it shows the RockBox boot menu but still won't show as a drive. [13:09:47] Think I've managed to resolve it by rebooting, selecting RB on ipod. It say's it's not installed properly then asks to be connected to USB. It will then find the drive and I managed to install the utility.
