[00:02:24] just reinstall emcore, using the files that I linked [00:04:00] (proceed just like during initial installation) [00:43:58] *** Quits: Poddie (d978da94@gateway/web/freenode/ip.217.120.218.148) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) [04:52:57] *** Quits: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [05:01:56] *** Joins: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) [05:58:57] *** Quits: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) [06:01:04] *** Joins: [Saint] (~saint@rockbox/staff/saint) [06:18:38] *** Quits: TheSeven (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) [06:19:58] *** Joins: TheSeven (~quassel@rockbox/developer/TheSeven) [06:35:33] *** Quits: Elfish (amba@2001:1608:12:1:13:3:3:7) (Ping timeout: 244 seconds) [06:36:04] *** Quits: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) (Ping timeout: 244 seconds) [06:39:53] *** Joins: Elfish (amba@2001:1608:12:1:13:3:3:7) [06:41:29] *** Joins: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) [14:15:21] *** Quits: Elfish (amba@2001:1608:12:1:13:3:3:7) (Ping timeout: 260 seconds) [14:15:28] *** Joins: Elfish (amba@2001:1608:12:1:13:3:3:7) [14:21:03] *** Quits: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) (Ping timeout: 260 seconds) [14:26:00] *** Joins: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) [16:02:34] *** Joins: Poddie (d978da94@gateway/web/freenode/ip.217.120.218.148) [16:03:26] thanks theseven, seems I was making things too difficult [16:04:07] after ejecting umsboot though I get another error: *PANIC* Data abort at 22000304! [17:31:33] but it keeps telling me the device wich is conected isnt working [17:37:54] My device is showing the UMSboot v0.2.1 btw [17:58:05] Poddie: hm, weird, please check that the ubi file wasn't corrupted, try re-downloading it etc. [17:58:11] if it still doesn't work I'll have a closer look [17:58:33] knaplullig: I'm not sure if I understand what you're trying to do... [17:58:47] if you have UMSboot on your ipod, you must have been in DFU mode already [18:18:49] *** Quits: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) (Quit: !sucide) [18:45:43] Yeah the ipod is in dfu mode but it wont show anywhere [18:46:02] *** Joins: APLU (~mulx@eva.aplu.fr) [18:47:49] the 64mb drive wich should pop up is not to be found on the computer.. [19:45:36] http://theseven.homenet.org/~theseven/tmp/installer-ipodclassic-with-all-patches.ubi [19:45:59] that was crazily quick thnx ;) [19:46:39] same error [19:46:44] strange stuff [19:47:06] because, emcore's on the board not the hdd right? [19:49:20] yes [19:49:32] I just tried it on mine, I can successfully flash that ubi file [21:31:56] any idea why me interrupting a file transfer could've caused this? [21:35:42] the ATA error looks like a known issue with tarkan's adapters that is fixed in the build that I linked above [21:36:04] I don't know why that fails to install on your device, but that seems unrelated [21:57:39] starting umsboot from the tools menu shouldn't be a problem? [21:57:49] realised that's the only thing I'm doing different [21:59:51] unlikely, but who knows... [22:00:03] try doing it through DFU again if you want to be certain [22:25:42] ah that was actually my original question, how do I get it in dfu now? [22:29:49] just like you did during initial installation: menu+select for about 12 seconds [22:29:53] (with USB connected) [22:30:37] well that just boots emcore [22:30:56] then you aren't pressing those buttons for 12 seconds. [22:31:16] ok that might be it hehe [22:32:05] ok dfu activated yup [22:35:05] fuck yeah [22:35:12] that worked perfectly [22:35:36] ahh bliss! thanks for the effort [22:39:58] what's up with the rockbox you've linked, btw? anything different from a dev build + beyondwind patch? [23:06:54] no idea what "beyondwind patch" is [23:07:40] that rockbox build is basically development build as of a few months ago + tarkan adapter fix + new USB driver that should be more stable [23:08:06] the tarkan adapter fix has landed in development builds in the meantime, the USB driver not yet [23:52:41] good to know [23:53:23] the beyondwind patch is, tadam, a patch by beyondwind that's necessary for rockbox to work with ssd's [23:56:20] it should be integrated into rockbox proper as far as I'm concerned! [23:57:00] Poddie: can you point me to the source code of that patch? [23:58:20] I guess it's basically a clone of http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/#/c/897/ which has been integrated on september 22nd [23:58:54] anyway, the current development builds should work with the SSD adapters as far as I know, but might have more trouble with USB than the build that I linked above [23:59:43] but generally speaking we can only integrate code that is actually submitted to us, and I've never heard of beyondwind before
