[11:10:31] I have a problem installing the emCORE r859 on my iPod Classic 7gen. [11:14:23] I installed it a couples a months ago with the original 160gb hdd, without problems. Now I installed a SD Card using Tarkan's device. Although it worked for a couple of hours, I opened again and took the card out, hoping to syncronizing my music library directly though the SD card. Big mistake... [11:17:23] since then I haven't been able to install emCORE again, not with the SD card nor with the original HDD. Although I manage to put the Ipod in UMSBoot mode and copy the emCORE installer, the error 80000000 appears. Then the installer runs, but never finishes formatting. [11:18:21] Did I fu*** my IPod? Or there's an alternative? [11:18:47] Thank you in advance for any replies! [11:40:46] chivo_: first, emcore is not installed on the sd card [11:41:32] second, you cannot use an emcore-formatted sd card with a card reader, respectively an emcore-formatted hdd with hdd dock or put it in a computer for example [11:42:08] the reason is, that we store a BBT (bad block table) at the very beginning of the storage media, which is incompatible with everything except emcore and rockbox [11:43:02] back to your question, emcore should actually boot without a card, if there are any issues you should be able to just format it using emcore's tools menu [11:43:23] can you take a picture of the ipod's screen with the error message shown? [11:46:43] thank you for repling. [11:47:28] The message is just about one second long, so I won't be able to do it. [11:47:35] But this is the text [11:47:36] *panic* ATA : error 80000000000 while reading bbt (sector 0, count1) [11:48:59] Now the problem is, I tried to install the apple software and from then go back to emCORE. Now both don't work... [12:09:07] this message means it has no access to the card at all [12:09:25] or hdd [12:09:41] sector 0 is the very first sector where bbt is stored, basicly that's the first attempt of reading anything from the media [12:09:50] ok [12:10:25] i think that [Saint] has information about a build that's optimised for these adapters [12:11:35] so I just send him an email asking him about the build [12:11:39] ? [12:51:16] so, I found in http://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20140515 the link with the latest build: emCORE 0.2.3 r9678. I was now able to flash it. Now I have following errors: [12:51:41] Storage init error 80000016 [12:51:57] FS mount error 80000000 [13:25:54] TheSeven: can you help with these error codes? [17:00:32] loading the rockbox fallcabk image following errors appeared: [17:01:36] http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4001/3dtor2en_jpg.htr [17:30:58] chivo_: it's basicly the same error - rockbox cannot access the storage [17:41:53] ok. I tried both hdd and sd card, and both show the same error [17:47:43] ok, just wait for an answer from TheSeven [18:52:06] *** Joins: chivo2 (b0006b30@gateway/web/freenode/ip.176.0.107.48) [19:13:04] *** Quits: chivo2 (b0006b30@gateway/web/freenode/ip.176.0.107.48) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) [20:25:56] *** Joins: chivo2 (579eb15c@gateway/web/freenode/ip.87.158.177.92) [21:19:25] *** Quits: chivo2 (579eb15c@gateway/web/freenode/ip.87.158.177.92) (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) [22:54:32] <[Saint]> It really seems like you've damaged the hardware. [22:55:29] <[Saint]> I mean, the software didn't change at all (we know this, because nothing can access it, and nothing important is kept on the disk anyway), you took it apart again, and it suddenly stopped being able to access the storage volume? [22:56:03] <[Saint]> Realistically, chivo_, looking at the information in that context, what do you believe the issue to be? [22:56:41] <[Saint]> Your error(s) are the functional equivalent of "there is no storage volume accessible to this device".
