Everything looks like it's working fine, but I can't connect to a computer (windows 7). There is no USB connection, no DFU mode, no UMS boot... Does anyone have an idea I can try? [22:25:26] MightyBora: what operating system are you using [22:25:39] also, are you using an original apple cable, or some replacement [22:25:47] and are you using a laptop or a desktop pc? [22:35:54] hi [22:36:02] *** Quits: krnlyng (~liar@83.175.90.24) (Quit: huiiiiii) [22:36:18] *** Joins: krnlyng (~liar@83.175.90.24) [22:37:41] I'm using Windows 7 64 bit on a desktop. The cable is original I believe. Not entirely sure. Is it important? I have another ipod classic 6.5g laying around (exact same model) which connects without a problem to this computer with the same cable. However this second ipod is not running emcore/rockbox [23:03:32] user890104: any ideas? [23:05:07] MightyBora: please try to use a usb port on the back of the computer [23:05:18] or if you have usb 2.0 ports (not 3.0), use them [23:06:44] alright, going under now! :P [23:13:51] doesn't make a difference, there is no recognition from my pc whatsoever [23:15:14] ok, how did you attempt to enter dfu mode? [23:15:24] did you follow the instructions on the video? [23:15:31] and on the ipod the screen shows a usb plug and the device is not usable [23:15:51] which it always does even when charging on a wall outlet [23:16:13] yes, I saw the video, just hold Menu + Select until the screen goes dark [23:16:33] keep holding after it rebooted in emcore [23:16:52] I didn't try DFU mode from the back USB though, I'll try now [23:17:08] yes, try it [23:17:16] disregards what's on the screen completely [23:17:26] hold the buttons, count to 12, release the buttons [23:17:28] that's all [23:17:56] it may show emcore, apple logo, whatever. doesn't matter [23:23:02] yeah I'm pretty sure it's in DFU mode, I keep holding that button combination, at first it looks like the ipod reboots to the emCORE menu, but after a couple more seconds the screen goes blank and the HDD spins down [23:23:28] computer doesn't recognize it though... [23:23:53] I also just tried UMS boot from the back, this also doesn't work [23:25:37] brb [23:54:27] back... anymore ideas user890104 ? :-/
