[04:03:48] <[Saint]> Ask a support question and find out. [04:08:24] I have an ipod classic 6g. When I hold down the menu and center button, all the way past the apple logo, then the screen going dark again, [04:09:17] then loading the bootstrap_ipodclassic_itunes program, the screen on my ipod turns on, but it gets resized [04:09:26] to the right 2/3rds of the screen [04:09:47] <[Saint]> That's expected for some screen variants. [04:09:50] and I see no menu, nor does the ipod respond to anything [04:10:29] <[Saint]> You're not expected to see the emCORE menu at this stage. [04:11:01] <[Saint]> It's waiting for confirmation to proceed. Menu+Play from memory. [04:12:40] ok - one time i got past this (the ipod didn't show anything different) and a new drive popped up on my computer, and I followed the directions regarding copying the .ubi file to it. [04:12:45] I am going to do that now [04:15:27] and it worked. I have no idea why it didn't work last time. The emCore installer is now showing. thanks for listening :) [04:16:23] *** Quits: [Saint] (~hayden@rockbox/staff/saint) (Ping timeout: 250 seconds) [04:17:31] *** Joins: [Saint] (~hayden@rockbox/staff/saint) [04:20:24] <[Saint]> derpaderpaderp: you shouldn;t really be using emCORE at this stage. I am trying to replace the hard drive with an ssd. I am using an iflash adapter with two sd xc cards. When I go into DFU mode on the ipod, my computer does not load the iPod device recovery driver. I have windows 10. Has anybody had the same issue? [04:41:14] Ipod is a classic, originally had 160 gb drive. Fat case. [04:54:18] <[Saint]> If you already had emCORE installed on this device and used the no-itunes installation variant, it is possible a driver is already associated with the device. [23:22:14] [Saint]: is there way to install Rockbox (w/ EmCORE) to iPod A1136 (Apple iPod 5th Gen (with Video) 30 GB)...? [23:28:29] <[Saint]> No. And there is absolutely zero need to do so. [23:28:41] <[Saint]> This device is supported by Rockbox installers natively. [23:28:56] <[Saint]> emCORE brings nothing to the table here. [23:29:22] <[Saint]> emCORE in itself is considered deprecated.
