I was confused regarding the line stating "Next create a mount point e.g. 'mkdir -p /media/disk' and mount the disk without specifying a file type, e.g. 'sudo mount /dev/sdX /media/disk' where X is the drive letter from the previous step". In Debian 8, and pr [10:39:06] obably derived OSes, mount will fail when attempting to mount a drive volume unless the -o loop or -o vfat flags are used. Booted into EmCore now [12:15:06] llldino: the instructions are outdated, and you are advised to use the new rockbox bootloader instead of emcore [12:15:20] while it still works, it is not developed anymore [12:16:04] user890104, ..Too late I suppose? [12:16:37] well, since you already installed it, you can use it [12:16:48] my point is that it is a lot easier to install the new one [12:17:19] user890104, Would have been nice to hear like 6 hours ago q: Thanks anyways [12:17:23] and it is a lot simplified, no boot menu - just boots rockbox by default, and apple os if a button is held down [12:17:36] and yes, it has dualboot (emcore doesn't) [12:25:14] Hmm. 6 gen Ipod doesn't show up in the RockBox Utility I downloaded from here: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/RockboxUtility#Download [12:25:48] Oh, it's probably ebcause it expects apple's firmware to be there when it's emcore [12:36:46] Awesome, ready to rock.
